Why Great Photos Matter

Photos are the most important part of your car listing. Listings with professional-quality photos get up to 60% more bookings. Your photos are the first impression renters see — make them count!

Photo Requirements

• Minimum: 10 photos (15-20 recommended)
• Format: JPG or PNG
• Resolution: 1920x1080 pixels minimum
• Orientation: Horizontal (landscape)
• Quality: Clear, well-lit, in focus

Before Shooting

Clean Your Car

• Wash and wax exterior
• Vacuum and clean interior
• Clean all windows (inside and out)
• Apply tire shine
• Remove all personal items

Best Time and Location

• Ideal: Golden hour (1 hour after sunrise or before sunset)
• Good: Overcast days with even lighting
• Avoid: Midday sun (harsh shadows) or nighttime
• Location: Clean background (empty parking lot, plain wall, nature)

Exterior (8 photos)

1. Front 3/4 view — 45° angle (PRIMARY PHOTO) [Mockup: Car at 45° from front-left, golden hour]
2. Rear 3/4 view — 45° from opposite corner [Mockup: Car at 45° from rear-right]
3. Direct front — Centered, straight-on [Mockup: Head-on front view]
4. Direct rear — Centered, shows taillights [Mockup: Head-on rear view]
5. Driver side profile — Full side view [Mockup: Side profile from driver side]
6. Passenger side profile — Full opposite side [Mockup: Side profile from passenger side]
7. Wheel close-up — Shows rim and tire [Mockup: Close-up of wheel]
8. Any damage — Honest photos of imperfections [Mockup: Minor scratch close-up]

Interior (7 photos)

1. Dashboard & steering wheel — Driver's view [Mockup: Dashboard with gauges and screen]
2. Instrument cluster — Shows mileage clearly [Mockup: Gauges showing odometer]
3. Infotainment screen — Tech features [Mockup: Center screen display]
4. Front seats — From back seat [Mockup: Both front seats from rear]
5. Rear seats — From front seat [Mockup: Rear seats showing space]
6. Trunk/cargo — Empty to show space [Mockup: Empty trunk]

Quick Photography Tips

• Height: Shoot from hip height for exteriors, chest height for interiors
• Framing: Car should fill 70-80% of frame
• Stability: Use both hands, take multiple shots
• Lighting: Open all doors for interior shots to let in natural light
• Details: Enable grid lines on camera for better composition

Photo Editing

Basic Adjustments

• Slightly increase brightness if too dark
• Subtle contrast boost makes photos "pop"
• Increase saturation by 5-10% (stay realistic)
• Straighten horizons and crop if needed

• Paid: Adobe Lightroom Mobile, VSCO

Don't Do This

• ❌ Heavy Instagram-style filters
• ❌ Hide damage (be honest)
• ❌ Use photos from internet
• ❌ Add text or stickers

Avoid These Mistakes

1. Dirty car → Wash thoroughly before shooting
2. Bad lighting → Shoot during golden hour or overcast days
3. Blurry images → Hold steady, take multiple shots
4. Cluttered background → Choose clean, simple locations
5. Too few photos → Take 15-20 photos minimum
6. Vertical orientation → Always shoot horizontal
