But El Zonte is much more than Bitcoin: it is a surf destination with world-class waves (the point break works from April to November), a growing community of digital nomads and entrepreneurs, and a relaxed vibe that contrasts with the energy of El Tunco, located just 10 minutes east by car. The road connecting San Salvador to El Zonte goes through the Port of La Libertad and follows the Litoral (CA-2): it is fully paved and well-signposted. With a car, you can move freely between El Zonte, El Tunco, Playa Sunzal and the other beaches along the coast — something impossible with public transport.
